Heritage Service

Hardwood floor cleaning and ongoing maintenance.

Routine cleaning, deep cleaning, and screen and recoat maintenance for installed hardwood floors across NW Arkansas. Bona certified products, Bona certified technique. Programs that protect your floor investment and extend the time before the next full refinish.

What we do

What hardwood floor cleaning actually is.

Hardwood floor cleaning ranges from routine maintenance using Bona cleaner and microfiber, through deep cleaning that removes built up grime and residue, up to screen and recoat which adds a fresh finish layer without sanding to bare wood. Heritage offers all three on installed hardwood across NW Arkansas.

Most homeowners clean their hardwood with whatever cleaner is in the cabinet. The wrong cleaner leaves residue, dulls the finish, or strips it. The right cleaner is a wood specific cleaner like Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner applied with a microfiber pad or spray mop. Heritage will set you up with a maintenance kit on any new install or refinish and walk you through the routine.

Deep cleaning is what we do when years of buildup have dulled the finish. Bona Pro Series cleaners cut through the residue, restoring the original finish appearance without removing it. Most homes need a deep clean once or twice a year. Pet households and homes near job sites or parks may need it more often.

Screen and recoat is the next step beyond deep cleaning. We screen (lightly abrade) the existing finish, then apply one fresh coat of Bona Certified finish on top. The floor looks new again at roughly half the cost and time of a full refinish, and the cycle can repeat several times before a full sand and finish becomes necessary. Screen and recoat is the lever that extends the lifespan of an installed floor by years.

Process

What a Heritage cleaning visit looks like.

  1. Phone or email scheduling

Cleaning and maintenance jobs schedule faster than installs or refinishes. Most jobs scheduled within 1 to 2 weeks.

  2. Floor assessment

We arrive, look at the floor under your lighting, identify whether you need a deep clean, a screen and recoat, or just a maintenance walkthrough.

  3. The cleaning or screen and recoat

Deep clean: 2 to 4 hours per typical residential floor. Screen and recoat: 4 to 8 hours, plus 24 hour cure for foot traffic.

  4. Maintenance kit and routine

We leave you with the Bona maintenance products you need plus a written care routine. The right routine extends the floor lifespan and keeps the finish under warranty.

What it costs

Honest pricing, custom to your job.

Cleaning and maintenance jobs run from a few hundred dollars for routine cleaning up through a screen and recoat which is typically half the cost of a full refinish. Specific pricing depends on square footage, floor condition, and whether the job is purely cleaning or includes a screen and recoat. The in home estimate is free.

The math favors regular maintenance. A screen and recoat every 3 to 7 years can extend the time before a full refinish by a decade or more. A floor that gets a screen and recoat at the right time stays under warranty and keeps the original finish looking fresh. Skipping maintenance forces a full sand and finish years sooner than necessary, costing more in total.

Frequently Asked

Cleaning FAQ.

What cleaner should I use day to day?

Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner with a microfiber spray mop is our standard recommendation. Wet mopping with general cleaners or vinegar damages the finish over time. We supply the maintenance kit on every install or refinish.

When do I need a screen and recoat versus a full refinish?

Screen and recoat works when the finish is worn but the wood underneath is still in good shape. If you can see bare wood spots, deep scratches into the wood, or stained boards, you need a full sand and finish. We tell you which one your floor needs on the assessment.

How long does a screen and recoat last?

3 to 7 years depending on traffic, pets, and how the floor is maintained. Light traffic households get the long end of that range; heavy traffic plus pets gets the shorter end.

Do you do periodic maintenance contracts?

Yes for clients that want to be on a schedule. Common cadence is annual deep clean plus screen and recoat every 3 to 5 years. Maintenance contracts are quoted by square footage and visit frequency.
