Service FAQ

Hardwood floor questions we answer every week.

How much does hardwood floor refinishing cost in Northwest Arkansas?

Heritage quotes hardwood floor refinishing by free in-home written estimate rather than a fixed price list, because the number depends on the floor's condition, stain choice, and how many finish coats the job needs. Free in-home estimates across Bella Vista, Bentonville, Rogers, and Fayetteville. The cost guide walks through the six variables that move the price.

How long does hardwood floor installation take?

Most residential hardwood floor installations take 3 to 7 days depending on square footage, species, and pattern. Straight plank installs are fastest. Herringbone and chevron patterns take longer because of the precision cuts involved.

How long does hardwood floor refinishing take?

A typical whole home hardwood refinishing takes 3 to 5 days. One day to sand, one day per finish coat and there are usually three, plus 24 to 48 hours of cure time before furniture goes back.

What hardwood species do you install?

Red oak, white oak, maple, hickory, cherry, walnut, heart pine, reclaimed heart pine, and engineered hardwood. Patterns include standard plank, wide plank, herringbone, chevron, and parquet.

What is the best hardwood species for Arkansas humidity?

White oak and hickory are excellent choices for Northwest Arkansas humidity. Both are dense, durable, and resist seasonal movement well. Engineered hardwood is also a strong option in basements or over concrete where humidity swings more.

Do you do dustless sanding?

Yes. Dustless sanding is standard on all of our hardwood floor refinishing and restoration work. It keeps the home clean during the project and produces a better finish surface.

When should I choose restoration over refinishing?

Choose restoration when boards are damaged, missing, or cupped, or when you are working with historic or reclaimed wood. Refinishing is for sound floors that just need a fresh surface. Heritage handles both, including custom stain matching to blend new boards into existing floors.

Are you Bona Certified?

Yes. Heritage Hardwood Floors is a Bona Certified Contractor, trained to apply Bona professional finish systems. A lifetime finish warranty is available on qualifying refinishing projects.
